Field Supervisor (Albany)

Field Supervisor - Permanent - Albany Depot

 

The Field Supervisor will be responsible for the daily supervision and coordination of operational field crews in conducting planned and unplanned network activities to ensures all assigned field-based work is completed in a safe, reliable, and efficient manner whilst maintaining the integrity of the network. To perform similar work to that of field crews, particularly in complex and time sensitive work activities or where operational needs are not met with current crew numbers.

 

To ensure field crews are trained and in compliance with safety guidelines, inspecting work progress and meeting with appropriate stakeholders to discuss assigned work progress.

 

 

Your Role in Action  

 

  • Coach safety representatives, prepare and present safety meetings and practice safe work principles
  • Ensure workers have required competencies to perform the tasks
  • Have an intimate knowledge of how operational field-based work is performed similar to that of field crews, particularly in complex and time sensitive work activities or where operational needs required it
  • Ensure prompt attendance of crew members to faults and isolate the network for repairs to maintain the integrity of the network and minimise customer impact
  • Responsible for review and sign off for all time sheets, including approving overtime hours to be worked and validating hours registered on the time sheet
  • Responsible for approving and managing all leave requests, and notify Field Operations Team Leader is any risks are identified that placed the delivery of work at risk
  • Responsible for hiring, assigning, and monitoring workload; determining work priorities; training; and performance management
  • Demonstrate and promote personal behaviours which are in line with business values, the code of conduct, standards, and expectations

 

 What Makes You a Great Fit

 

  • Relevant and current trade-based qualification in a discipline such as - Electrical Fitter / Mechanic Certificate 3, Trade Certificate or Distribution / Transmission Overhead or Certificate 3 Distribution Cable Jointer or equivalent
  • Demonstrated, extensive and broad technical experience in networks or transmission/distribution industry, including appropriate licenses or certificates of competency
  • Highly developed teamwork and customer focus skills
  • Demonstrated experience in the implementation and execution of operation plans
  • A sound knowledge of networks construction maintenance and operations field practices
  • Incident investigation skills
  • Highly developed teamwork and customer focus skills
  • Advanced written, verbal and report writing skills
