Operational Technical Officer

As the Operational Technical Officer, you will be required to perform specialist complex technical tasks on Western Power’s network and provide construction and maintenance technical support and advice, this includes accountability to coordinate external training and deliver local training to meet operational requirements as well as the management of field resource tools and equipment.
Your Role in Action
- Facilitate ongoing skill maintenance and development to the Operational Workforce
- Provide input and advice on complex technical queries / tasks being performed on the WP network to identify safe solutions or lead and coordinate complex technical issues
- Provide sound construction and maintenance technical support and advice
- Conduct training courses and associated assessments of on-site training.
- Prepare technical reports, procedures and assist formal leaders with incident investigations.
- Manage and maintain accurate and up to date registers for portable operational plant, tools, and equipment.
- Induct and supervise contractors and subcontractors you engage to perform work at the depot.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Must possess current trade qualifications – current Certificate III in ESI - Power Systems - Distribution Cable Jointing and/or Certificate III in ESI - Power Systems - Distribution Overhead or Electrical Workers Licence
- Preferably at least 6+ years specialist technical experience in networks construction, maintenance and operations field practices and procedures
- Application of trade and post trade skills and competencies to suit local business requirements
- Valid WA Driver’s License Class ‘C’ or ‘C-A’
