Senior Systems Consultant

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Systems Consultant within our People Capability function at our Jandakot Office on a 12-month fixed term basis. 

 

The primary focus in the role is to provide subject matter expertise, guidance, and advice on relevant system implementation, upgrades, enhancements, integrations, and long-term system strategy input, while providing an escalation point for operational troubleshooting, support, and ongoing maintenance of specific functional information management systems. 

 

We are looking for a seasoned professional with extensive demonstrated industry experience in managing relevant information or business systems. 

 

Your Role in Action   

  

  • Lead and support maintenance and governance of information system(s) under the relevant Functions and act as the operational “custodian” of the relevant functional system(s). 

  • Responsible for, maintenance, support and troubleshooting of all relevant systems (IS) while meeting or exceeding required defined service levels. 

  • Manage and proactively make recommendations, implements, and supports system upgrades, patches / releases, testing and other technical projects as required. 

  • Provides technical guidance and support to stakeholders in the operation and maintenance of relevant systems, including coordinate required system updates, enhancements and to provide timely communication to all stakeholders. 

  • Complete system configuration and testing where qualified to do so and with appropriate controls. 

  • Co-ordinates system integration and customizations and supports all relevant systems in terms of any technical issues, whiling supporting the development of solutions and ensuring schedules are met with minimal operational business interruptions. 

  • Responsible for any required system change management and knowledge transfer activities and maintain and ensure that all system documentation is kept up to date to a high standard. 

  • Manage all change management requirements relating to systems as required, including provide SME support for the development of training materials for end user training (“train the trainer”). 

 

What Makes You a Great Fit  

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business, information systems, or related discipline or extensive demonstrated and sound industry experience. 

  • Strong and demonstrated experience in providing business consulting and support for the purpose of maintaining and improving business systems. 

  • Well-versed in a variety of information system environments with the ability to troubleshoot and make recommendations on complex technical issues.  

  • Ability to effectively communicate on complex issues with a high level of effectiveness and build strong working relationships with various levels of internal and external customers.  

  • Sound knowledge of building business processes and applications as these relate to systems. 

  • Knowledge of application design, development, and architecture. 

  • Understanding of relevant change management tools and the Release & Deployment, Service Validation & Testing, and Change Management processes. 

  • Understanding of testing methodology, tools, and techniques with the ability to lead system testing.  

  • Ability to self-manage to effectively balance and prioritise activities, support, and project tasks. 

  • Demonstrated experience in enterprise type systems best practice and the ability to translate business requirements into system specifications.  

  • High level documentation / report writing skills. 

  • Interaction with others is primarily concerned with influencing, developing, and motivating people and changing behaviour. 

  • Highly desirable – Experience in the following systems – aXcelerate, Pegasus, Optimizely, SharePoint.
