Technical Trainer – Permanent – Jandakot
We are seeking a Technical Trainer for a permanent opportunity to develop the next generation of tradies, ensuring they work safely while building their own legacy in the electrical industry. In this respected technical role, you will lead safety culture across the Western Power network and pass the torch to the next generation, honouring a lifetime of hard-earned expertise.
Work predictable hours at our Jandakot Power Training Services hub & enjoy flexibility through a 9-day fortnight after all those years being on-call!
Your Role in Action
- Deliver practical, high-quality training and keep training records on track so programs run smoothly and meet required standards.
- Support and mentor trainees on the job, helping them build real-world skills, confidence, and safe work habits alongside leaders.
- Keep your own skills sharp through ongoing learning, staying current with industry standards and best practice.
- Be a strong, visible advocate for safety, making a genuine difference to how work is done across the Western Power Network.
- Build respectful, professional relationships with customers, clients, and key stakeholders, while reliably delivering on commitments.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (or keen to work towards achieving it!)
- Certificate III in ESI - Power Systems - Distribution Cable Jointing
- Prior experience in Power Industry
- Valid WA Driver’s License Class ‘C’ or ‘C-A’

- Highly desirable: Specialist experience in switching or live line disciplines, or the versatility to deliver training across multiple technical programs and competencies.
