Senior Network Investigation Technician

In this role, you will be accountable for providing subject matter expertise to the business and the technical coordination, at a high level, to ensure the safe operation of the Western Powers Distribution Network.
This role is based at the Kewdale Depot.
Your Role in Action
- To provide SME technical, support, advice and training across a broad spectrum in regard to the investigation, identifying and resolving of significant and complex network issues associated with the LV and HV network
- Provide Emergency Management operations in the field and act as Western Powers Liaison Officer to multi agency responses.
- Take personal accountability, and that of others, for safety in the work environment and ensure safe work practises are followed and a safe work environment maintained
- Work with other project/program team members to optimise project timing considering available resources and cost implications.
- Responsible for technically challenging and complex technical assignments required to be undertaken through providing technical SME and discipline counsel.
- Promote and maintain open communication with team members and stakeholders.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Current “A” Grade WA Electrical Workers License endorsed for Electrical Fitting/Mechanic
- Western Power Switching Levels LOU, HOU,
- Substantial (preferably 10 - 15 Years) demonstrated experience relevant to the design, construction, maintenance and operation of electrical distribution networks and equipment.
- Demonstrated continuous improvement, training, mentoring and coaching techniques of individuals within a team and across the business.
- Have solid experience in coordination and technical supervision of others
- Specialist technical knowledge of Distribution and / or Transmission general and fault switching techniques and practices.
- Strong analytical, data analysis and report writing skills
- Proven experience in managing high level negotiations and conflict resolution
- Experience dealing with external customers
- Proven project, contract and maintenance management systems and tools experience
- Resource and Financial Management practices and procedures.
- Must have excellent report writing skills and be able to communicate at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- MS Office systems, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access. Ellipse, EDM, and other specialist applications
- Valid WA Driver’s License Class ‘C’ or ‘C-A’
