Mechanical Team Coordinator -Permanent - South Metro Depot
Plan and take a lead role in coordinating onsite work activities enabling the team to repair, service, maintenance and project work on Western Power’s heavy vehicle and mobile plant
Your Role in Action
- Take accountability for safety in the work environment for themselves and others and ensure team follows safe work practices and a safe work environment maintained.
- Conducting planned and unplanned (e.g. breakdowns) work, including, inspection, complex fault diagnosis and rectifying problems
- Overhaul, strip and rebuild Western Power’s heavy vehicles and mobile plant equipment as per project plans and WorkSafe regulations and Australian Standards
- Modify Western Power’s heavy vehicles, mechanical plant and mobile equipment as per project plans and engineering designs
- Take personal accountability for work performance of self and team and show commitment to Western Power Values.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Trade certificate (AQF3) in either Heavy Duty Mechanics, Auto Electrics, Mechanical Fitter or Welding plus a combination of either Hydraulics, Electrics or Welding skills
- Motor Vehicle Repairer’s Certificate
- Valid WA ‘HR’ drivers’ licence
- Relevant Network Authorisation including Basic Emergency Life Support (within the first month of employment)
- Demonstrated industry experience in the repair, servicing and maintenance of heavy fleet, vehicles, and mobile plant
- Application of Western Power’s IT systems as required
- Highly developed teamwork skills
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Basic cost and time estimating skills
- Completion of the following Front-Line Management (FLM) units:
- Implement Operational Plan (BSBMGT402);
- Lead Team Effectiveness (BSBLDR403);
- Lead effective workplace relationships
- (BSBLDR402); and Implement and monitor WHS policies, procedures, and programs to meet legislative requirements (BSBWHS401).
