Non Trade Employee - Koorda

In the Non Trade role you will be required to provide ‘multi-skilled’ non-trade support in a line & cable team environment in the construction and maintenance of the transmission and distribution electricity network in a safe, reliable and affordable manner to maintain the integrity of the network.

 

Your Role in Action  

 

  • Assist in the completion of allocated construction, maintenance and inspection work to Western Power standards ensuring consistent quality across the network
  • Gain meaningful on the job training by working closely with experienced colleagues. Participate in on the job training and relevant industry training
  • Participating in pre-job planning to identify risks, hazards and task variables and control measures to ensure safe, reliable and affordable job completion
  • Work within a team environment completing work from foundations to fully constructed and maintained substation. This is often in different locations with unique environmental elements, high standard and work practice requirements
  • Implement work requirements to facilitate modification of equipment in an ‘in service’ environment in accordance with Western Power’s safe working procedures
  • Application of good customer relations when working in the field especially where there is direct contact with the public

This is an exciting opportunity for a Trade Assistant/Plant Operator on a Permanent Full-Time Basis at our Koorda Depot.

 

 What Makes You a Great Fit 

 

  • Valid WA ‘C’ Class Drivers Licence to business requirements
  • Valid WA ‘’HC’ Licence (minimum)
  • High Risk Crane licence class C2 (as a minimum) or C6 (as required)
  • JCB Loader Experience would be preferred but not essential
  • Western Power Crane Supplementary would be preferred but not essential
  • High Risk Licence class Forklift (as required)
  • Relevant Network Authorisation including Construction industry white card and Basic Emergency Life Support (within the first month of employment)
  • Prior experience in providing non-trade support in an operational team environment
  • Demonstrate Western Power's constructive behaviours and values
