This is an exciting opportunity for a Yard Person on a Permanent Full-Time basis.
This role is based in Northam which is the largest town in the Avon Region, situated at the joining of the Avon and Mortlock Rivers, only 97 kilometres east-northeast of Perth in the Avon Valley.
Your Role in Action
As the Yard Person/Trade Assistant you will be required to provide ‘multi-skilled’ non-trade support in a line team environment in the construction and maintenance of the distribution electricity network in a safe, reliable and affordable manner to maintain the integrity of the network.
The work tasks will include,
- Washing EWP’s and Booms for compliance and testing.
- Equipment maintenance, testing and tagging and compliance.
- Yard maintenance, Spraying and weeding as well as rubbish collection.
- Pole and crossarm dismantling cutting and segregation.
- Desegregation of equipment and recyclable products.
- Vehicle drop offs and errands.
- Forklift operations.
- Loading, unloading and restraining of equipment.
- Parts and equipment transit to crews in field when required.
- Small office or admin tasks when required (labels and dials).
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Valid WA ‘C/MR’ Class Drivers Licence to business requirements mandatory.
- Valid WA “HR/HC” (Desirable)
- Telehandler tickets (Desirable)
- P.A.T Portable Appliance testing (Desirable)
- Dogging or Rigging tickets (Desirable)
- High Risk Licence class Forklift.
- Hand tool experience.
- Relevant Network Authorisation including Construction industry white card and Basic Emergency Life Support (within the first month of employment)
- Demonstrate Western Power's constructive behaviours and values
- Self-motivated and can-do attitude with the ability to work unsupervised.
- Ability to adapt to a changing daily environment with work tasks.
