Project Manager, Housing & Infrastructure Growth Program – 24 Month Maximum Term – Perth CBD

 

We are seeking an infrastructure Project Manager to join the Housing & Infrastructure Growth Program (HIGP) Team. In this role, you will oversee the end-to-end process for customers needing electrical network connections or electrical asset alterations. You will lead design, scheduling, construction, and contract management activities, ensuring effective project delivery across various market segments. Your Role in Action  

 

  • Delivering complex projects to the agreed scope, time and cost without compromising safety or quality .
  • Complex projects may include a high level of technological, reputational, safety or commercial risk representing a material impact on Western Power and its stakeholders.
  • The program encompasses a portfolio of complex projects involving electrical network infrastructure required to support major Housing Growth transmission and distribution initiatives. These works enable several high‑profile Western Australian Government infrastructure programs, including hospitals upgrades, METRONET expansions, and Main Roads WA (MRWA) road and rail projects. In addition, the portfolio includes distribution infrastructure supporting decarbonisation initiatives, major industrial demand growth, and energy supply for key mining developments.
  • Execute all projects according to Western Powers Project Methodology, Standards, Processes and Governance framework.
  • Ensure project financials are managed, maintained, forecasted and can be reported upon in terms of Capex and Opex.
  • Report the status of the assigned projects pro-actively and on an ongoing basis to key stakeholders and Senior Managers, and co-ordinate and manage the work of the Project Team through up-to-date resource plans and project schedules in P6.
  • Build effective Project Teams across diverse Functions of the enterprise to deliver required project and program outcomes.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to project staff.

 

What Makes You a Great Fit

 

  • Tertiary Qualifications in Project Management, Engineering or Construction or demonstrable industry infrastructure delivery experience.
  • In addition to having demonstrated experience managing and delivering projects, with further experience in delivering projects utilising industry standard project methodology such as PMBOK or Prince 2.
  • Have industry accreditation in project management, RegPM or PMI – PMP® certification.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with project stakeholders and Senior leaders through superior communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated and the ability to manage time and prioritise effort.
  • Interaction with others is primarily concerned with influencing, developing, motivating and changing behaviour.
  • Extensive financial acumen including the ability to interpret financial data and reports by utilising project knowledge and tools (P6) to accurately budget and forecast expenditure and productivity.
  • Valid WA Driver’s License Class ‘C’ or ‘C-A’.
