Senior Property Specialist – Perth CBD – Permanent Full Time

This role sits at the heart of Western Power’s property strategy, managing complex property transactions and delivering expert commercial advice to support critical infrastructure outcomes. As a Senior Property Specialist, you will lead acquisitions, disposals, leasing and property rights negotiations, using strong financial and market analysis to protect Western Power’s interests, optimise property assets and enable safe, reliable services for the community.

Your Role in Action  

• Lead the acquisition, leasing, disposal and management of property interests, including easements, to support Western Power's network growth, operational requirements and critical infrastructure projects.
• Manage a diverse portfolio of property transactions across rural, commercial and infrastructure environments, ensuring commercially sound outcomes and protection of Western Power's interests.
• Conduct detailed financial, commercial and market analysis, including cost-benefit assessments, risk evaluation and option analysis, to support strategic property decisions.
• Prepare high-quality business cases, reports and recommendations that enable informed decision-making on complex property matters.
• Negotiate with landowners, government agencies, major customers and legal representatives to secure property rights and deliver successful transaction outcomes.
• Build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders, providing expert property advice and influencing decisions on complex and often sensitive property matters.
• Navigate challenging conversations and negotiations while balancing commercial outcomes, stakeholder expectations, legislative requirements and long-term network needs.
• Contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team environment while supporting Western Power's commitment to safety, customer focus and continuous improvement.

What Makes You a Great Fit 

• Tertiary qualifications in a property-related discipline, supported by extensive experience in property acquisition, leasing, disposals and portfolio management.
• Demonstrated experience managing complex property transactions, ideally within utilities, infrastructure, government, transport, resources or major projects environments.
• Proven capability in conducting financial and commercial analysis, including cost-benefit assessments, risk evaluation and transaction recommendations.
• Extensive experience negotiating acquisitions, leasing arrangements, disposals and other commercial property agreements to achieve successful outcomes.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced project environment, demonstrating resilience, sound judgement and strong organisational skills.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the confidence to influence decisions, provide expert advice and navigate challenging conversations both internally and externally.
• Experience working with landowners, government agencies, legal representatives, major customers and other stakeholders on complex property matters will be highly regarded.
• A current Real Estate Licence or demonstrated experience delivering land acquisition activities would be highly regarded.
• A collaborative and pragmatic approach, with a willingness to learn, contribute to a supportive team culture and build long-term expertise in the property field.
