Western Power is looking for a passionate Category & Contract Specialist to join us permanently and take the lead in managing our portfolio of IT services, software, and goods contracts. In this pivotal role, you’ll drive value by enhancing service quality, mitigating risks, and optimising costs - shaping the way Western Power delivers excellence across every contract.
Your Role in Action
- Lead end-to-end contract management and supplier performance to drive exceptional commercial outcomes for Western Power.
- Negotiate with suppliers for IT Services, goods and software to secure the best value and long-term partnerships.
- Apply Western Powers contract management framework consistently, ensuring it delivers impact across your portfolio.
- Unlock the full value of contracts, champion compliance, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Harness data and e-procurement tools to monitor category and contract performance and inform strategic decisions.
- Support strong governance and commercial oversight, ensuring policies are followed and uncontracted spend is managed.
- Forecast supply needs and assess service, goods, and materials capabilities to meet Western Powers future demands.
- Shape and implement innovative supply chain strategies that strengthen Western Powers portfolio and drive measurable results.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Proven experience in developing and executing contract strategies that deliver measurable value.
- Skilled at building and nurturing supplier relationships to drive outcomes beyond the contract.
- Strong communication, influencing, and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Sound understanding of risk, compliance, and procurement frameworks with practical application.
- Demonstrated negotiation, problem-solving, and contract management expertise.
- Knowledge of Contract Law, Australian Standards, and relevant legislation to guide compliant and effective agreements.
