Take the lead as Commercial Procurement Contract Team Leader at Western Power in a permanent opportunity, driving high-value, complex IT and technology contracts that power our projects and programs. Lead and inspire a team of professionals, shape procurement strategy, negotiate key deals, and turn commercial risk into opportunity. Your leadership will ensure every contract delivers maximum value, compliance, and impact across Western Powers operations.
Your Role in Action
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of Category and Sourcing Specialists, fostering accountability, growth, and excellence in delivering complex procurement outcomes.
- Provide strategic guidance and technical expertise, ensuring the team confidently navigates commercial decisions and delivers value across Western Power contracts.
- Drive compliance with government policies, safety, governance, asset management, insurance, and conduct requirements, safeguarding Western Powers operations and reputation.
- Ensure consistent, efficient, and best-practice approaches to category and sourcing processes, tools, templates, and documentation across the team.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence, identifying opportunities to enhance processes and outcomes.
- Monitor, evaluate, and report on business processes and systems, ensuring they support strategic objectives and measurable impact.
- Role-model a safety-first and people-focused mindset, supporting training, development, and a culture of accountability and wellbeing.
- Coach and develop team members, unlocking their potential, building capability, and strengthening the overall performance and resilience of the team.

- Extensive experience in complex procurement, category, and sourcing management, with strong negotiation and commercial skills.
- Proven expertise in contract and commercial management, including risk assessment and value-driven decision-making.
- Deep understanding of the external contracting market, governance, and probity standards.
- Solid knowledge of contract law, construction law, and relevant legislation, applied in real-world commercial contexts.
- Demonstrated success in high-value negotiations, delivering optimal outcomes while managing risk and compliance.
