The Contract Management Team Leader is accountable for leading and developing a team of professionals responsible for the optimal delivery of contracts of significant value, volume and complexity that form part of Western Power’s network projects. This role is critical to ensuring strong commercial outcomes, effective risk management and successful contract delivery that directly impacts business performance and customer outcomes.
This position provides technical leadership, setting clear expectations and accountabilities to ensure contracts are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with Western Power’s Contract Management Framework.

Your Role in Action
- Accountable for the effective and efficient management of Western Power’s contracts of significant value, volume, complexity, and reputational impact
- Accountable for ensuring full compliance to, and consistent application of, Western Powers Contract Management Framework
- Proactively contribute to improvements in Western Power’s Contract Management and Work, Health and Safety Frameworks
- Accountable for providing clear technical advice, expertise and direction to the team and has overall responsibility for organising allocated resources to achieve specific outcomes
- Responsible for the management of a team of contract management, ensuring they are accountable for the contract deliverables
- Accountable for managing resources to ensure outsourced works relating to Network contracts or Customer initiated projects are delivered in line with the contractual requirements including, but not limited to:
- site specific safety management
- site specific environmental management
- quality assurance
- management of schedule focusing on critical path
- Driving a consistent approach to contract delivery processes and procedures including the use of systems, tools and templates within the team
- Build a mindset of continuous improvement and innovation within your team
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Degree qualified in Law or a Legal discipline, Engineering, Business or a Commercial discipline, OR trade-based qualifications coupled with significant, broad and deep Contract Management / Commercial experience.
- A seasoned professional with extensive technical experience in complex contract management including strong negotiation skills, excellent business acumen and proven commercial and contractual risk management and analysis skills
- A thorough knowledge of the external contracting market and contract governance and probity
- Strong commercial acumen and analytical knowledge and experience, coupled with strong problem-solving skills
- Strong leadership, influencing, communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated people management skills with an ability to motivate and lead successful teams
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage several priorities.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of budgeting/finance systems including monitoring and control
