Contract Manager

Join us as a Contract Manager within our Property and Fleet team, where you’ll play a critical role in shaping and delivering a diverse portfolio of major construction and infrastructure projects. This is an opportunity to influence high-value, complex contracts at scale, driving performance, enabling successful project outcomes, and ensuring our communities benefit from safe, sustainable, and high-quality delivery.
You’ll be the trusted expert, providing strategic contract advice and guidance while partnering across teams to ensure every contract meets its commitments, from safety and environmental standards through to cost, time, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Your Role in Action
- Manage a portfolio of complex, high-value construction and infrastructure contracts, supporting the delivery of large-scale projects with real operational and community impact
- Provide clear, practical contract guidance to project teams, helping navigate risk, resolve issues, and support sound commercial decision-making
- Build effective working relationships with project managers, contractors, and suppliers to ensure alignment, transparency, and consistent delivery outcomes
- Ensure all contracts are managed in line with established frameworks, with a strong focus on safety, environmental compliance, quality, cost, and schedule performance
- Review key contract documentation—including scopes, specifications, plans, and pricing schedules—to ensure accuracy, completeness, and readiness for delivery
- Monitor contractor performance against agreed plans, addressing gaps early and working collaboratively to keep projects on track
- Manage contract changes, including variations, scope adjustments, progress claims, and extensions of time, with a balanced and outcomes-focused approach
- Maintain a strong on-the-ground presence through site and progress meetings, providing assurance that documentation, safety requirements, and contract obligations are being met
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Demonstrated experience managing complex, high-value contracts, with a strong understanding of contract management principles and practical application in large-scale environments
- Sound knowledge of contract law and the ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation in a commercial context
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and provide clear, confident guidance to a broad range of stakeholders
- Proven capability in negotiation, conflict resolution, and managing sensitive stakeholder relationships in a constructive and respectful way
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across diverse teams and organisational levels, fostering collaboration and trust
- A relevant qualification in Business, Law, Commerce, or equivalent experience
