Contractor Compliance Team Leader – Permanent – Perth CBD

 

The Contractor Compliance Team Leader is accountable leading a team of Contract Site Delivery Specialists, who are responsible for ensuring that the Contractor(s) operate in accordance with all Western Power’s Contractual requirements including; Safety, Environmental, and Quality Management requirements and the verification of Contractor claims. 

 

This team is responsible for the management of contractors to ensure all obligations and deliverables are achieved and that all obligations under the Western Power’s Contract Management Framework are met. This team has a direct impact on Western Power’s business operations by being responsible for the delivery of contractor(s) to mitigate any risks to Western Power’s business operations and delivery. 

 

This position provides technical leadership and is critical to ensuring clear expectations and accountabilities are set up front with all parties to ensure successful delivery outcomes. 

 

Your Role in Action  

 

  • Accountable for the effective and efficient management of Western Power contractor(s) working to contracts of significant value and complexity 
  • Accountable for ensuring the appropriate level of onsite resourcing is available for outsourced works 
  • Accountable for ensuring a high level of compliance to, and consistent application of the contract management framework for onsite activities within the team 
  • Accountable for providing clear technical advice, expertise and direction to the team and has overall responsibility for organising allocated resources to achieve specific outcomes 
  • Ensuring the constructability review of contracted work packages is completed prior to the Contract being executed 
  • Ensuring the delivery of outsourced works by contractors meet the contractual compliance and focusses require for, among others; 
    • Site specific safety management  
    • Site specific environmental management  
    • Quality assurance  
    • Management of schedule focusing on critical path  
  • Ensuring the appropriate documentation is available to validate claims and variation requests 
  • Ensuring there is a consistent approach to contractor and contract delivery including the use of systems, tools and templates within the team.

 

 What Makes You a Great Fit 

 

  • Degree qualified in Law or a Legal discipline, Engineering, Business or a Commercial discipline, OR trade-based qualifications coupled with significant, broad and deep Contract Management / Commercial experience
  • A seasoned professional with extensive industry demonstrated knowledge and technical expertise in complex contract management
  • A thorough knowledge of the external contracting market and contract governance and probity 
  • Strong commercial acumen, coupled with strong problem-solving skills 
  • Extensive knowledge and industry experience in construction management 
  • Strong commercial acumen and analytical experience 
  • Strong leadership, influencing, communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to deal with pressure, ambiguity and change and to adapt to and manage different situations.
