Corporate Surveillance Officer

We have an exciting permanent opportunity for a Corporate Surveillance Officer to play a critical role in protecting Western Power’s people, assets, and operations. As part of our security team, you will provide real-time security and emergency management support across the Western Power network, monitoring advanced security systems, responding to incidents and alerts, and serving as a key point of contact for employees, contractors, and emergency services.

Your Role in Action  

• Monitor Western Power’s security management and safety systems, including CCTV and alarms, to identify, assess and coordinate responses to security incidents across the network.
• Serve as the 24/7 central point of contact for security-related incidents, ensuring timely escalation and coordination with internal stakeholders, security providers and law enforcement.
• Manage access control permissions across Western Power facilities, maintaining the security and integrity of sites throughout the Southwest Interconnected Network (SWIN).
• Oversee telematics and driver safety alerts for a fleet of more than 1,500 vehicles, responding to duress and high-risk events while supporting safe driving behaviours through reporting and analysis.
• Lead the response to physical security incidents as the on-duty Senior Security Officer, coordinating actions to protect people, assets and critical infrastructure.
• Conduct security investigations involving incidents affecting employees, facilities and network assets, including evidence gathering, reporting and liaison with police and other authorities.
• Analyse security trends, vulnerabilities and emerging threats, preparing incident reports, intelligence updates and recommendations to strengthen network security and resilience.
• Support broader business operations by providing surveillance and investigation assistance, managing specialist security equipment, and coordinating responses to maintenance and operational issues as required.

What Makes You a Great Fit 

• Proven experience in a corporate security, surveillance or emergency response environment, with the ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills, with the ability to assess incidents, prioritise actions and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Confidence working both independently and collaboratively, maintaining focus and attention to detail across rotating day and night shifts.
• Experience using security technologies and complex computer systems, including CCTV, video management and access control platforms.
• A current C Class Driver’s Licence, with the ability to obtain Substation Entry qualifications.
• Relevant security and safety certifications, including a Certificate II in Security Operations, Construction White Card and Senior First Aid Certificate (or the willingness to obtain where applicable).
