As the Distribution Grid Strategy & Planning Manager, you'll drive strategic direction and ensure long-term network readiness—supporting decarbonisation, meeting growing customer demands, and aligning with regulatory frameworks. Your Role in Action  

 

Effectively lead and develop the Distribution Grid Strategy & Planning area to:

  • Develop and maintain Network Development Plan (10 year) in line with the Network Management Plan considering both asset integrity, network capacity and reliability drivers; and cognisant of operational, financial and regulatory constraints.
  • Initiate, plan and justify, works proposals for the distribution network to meet reliability, power quality, asset integrity and network capacity objectives defined in the approved Network Investment Plan (NIP).
  • Perform approved network analysis and planning support to key business stakeholders and customers
  • Provide distribution protection device settings and management support
  • Network contingency planning and support for emergency event response.
  • Management of distribution power quality outcomes
  • Deliver timely, accessible and accurate planning advice to key stakeholders in line with defined and agreed service levels.
  • Provide input to and support for business planning and network operation processes as identified in the business operating model and as defined in the Process Library.

 

What Makes You a Great Fit 

 

  • Qualification in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • Strong leadership, influencing, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Extensive understanding of network utility regulation and the requirements this places on justification and development of distribution projects
  • Proven track record of effective management and leadership of high profile planning teams
  • A demonstrated understanding of the regulatory framework in which organisations operate and the link between business decisions and their impact on the regulatory outcomes
