Social Performance Manager – Permanent Full Time – Perth CBD

 

We are seeking an experienced Social Performance Manager to lead our Social Performance area, with a focus on driving positive outcomes for the Clean Energy Link (CEL) Program – a major transmission expansion project supporting WA’s decarbonisation goals.

 

In this pivotal role, you will oversee a dedicated team developing and implementing the targeted stakeholder engagement strategies in alignment with the Social Performance Framework. This includes working with Aboriginal Corporations, Government departments such as PoweringWA, Regional Development Commissions, Local Governments and interested stakeholder bodies. The team will work closely with communities through the development of the CEL program, undertaking social impact assessments to identify opportunities to develop social value and community benefits. You’ll also work closely with the Major Customer Decarbonisation team to support social performance outcomes for large-scale customers connected to the CEL Program.

 

Your Role in Action  

 

  • Lead the planning, organisation, and delivery of the Transmission Social Performance program, including maturity assessments, change management, and supporting frameworks, documents, and processes.
  • Develop and manage the Social Performance program from inception to delivery, including cost savings targets, process and standard design, performance indicators, and monitoring and reporting of effectiveness.
  • Lead the development and implementation of stakeholder and community engagement strategies, ensuring alignment with social performance principles and Transmission program objectives.
  • Support the Major Customer Decarbonisation team by addressing social performance requirements for CEL program customers, maximising benefits and minimising risks.
  • Develop and deliver the Community Benefits and Social Value strategy, working with stakeholders to promote positive reputational and social outcomes linked to the CEL program.
  • Lead the Aboriginal Engagement Strategy and heritage approvals process, ensuring alignment with Western Power’s Reconciliation Action Plan and securing support from key bodies such as PoweringWA, Dept of Planning, Lands and Heritage, and Infrastructure WA.

 

What Makes You a Great Fit 

 

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Engineering, Business Management, Economics, Project Management, Finance, or related discipline
  • Significant broad knowledge and expertise in managing and delivering large scale, strategic Programs of work with Director/ Portfolio Management level experience in successful transformation projects delivery preferably within an electrical or utilities environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in external stakeholder and community engagement, including devising and executing highly complex engagement strategies.
  • Proactive, tenacious, and strong influencing - skills to drive successful delivery of results and meet stakeholder expectations.
  • Strong business acumen, analytical and problem-solving skills and exposure to risk management and governance processes.
  • Demonstrated people resourcing and management skills, working within a matrix structure, and ability to engage and drive teams (including virtual teams) to produce outcomes which meet desired timeframes.
  • Highly developed analytical skills required to be applied to complex organisational challenges and opportunities.
