We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Team Leader at Perth Head Office, on a Permanent Full-Time basis.


About this role

 

As the Protection Engineering Team Leader, you will be required to lead a team of engineering professionals, accountable and responsible for delivering project specific designs and relevant standards across the Protection Design and applications Team ensuring all designs are safe, reliable and affordable.

 

  • Provide end to end Protection standards, estimates, concept design, system design, fault studies, fault clearance times and system settings to meet relevant regulatory requirements on safety, plant (thermal) and network stability.
  • Provide integration and application of Protection and settings, and related activities including management of standards, and specialist support.
  • Lead the planning, scoping, scheduling, coordination, design and engineering of Protection Design Team.
  • Deliver project specific designs across Protection ensuring all designs are safe, reliable and affordable.
  • Manage and develop quality feedback systems
  • Implement an integrated program to develop standard designs, templates, guidelines and specifications leading to safe, reliable and affordable designs.
  • Contribute to and support the optimisation of capital expenditure through efficient and effective engineering design.
  • Contribute to and support risk management
  • Manage talent through effective execution of employee performance outcomes through established system and processes and the ongoing development of employees

 

About you

 

We are seeking someone with experience and attributes that include:

 

  • Australian recognised Degree in Engineering, eligible for corporate membership of the institution of Engineers Australia. Chartered status is highly recommended.
  • Knowledge and experience of transmission and distribution Protection, systems design, policies, procedures and regulations. Candidates with solid experience in leadership, program and project management will also be considered.
  • Skills and capability in front-line management, work management, design coordination and ability to schedule tasks and resources to meet project requirements
  • An understanding of risk management and its application within the business
  • Strong leadership, influencing, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Valid WA Driver’s License Class ‘C’ or ‘C-A’
