Substation Engineering Team Leader – Permanent Full Time – Perth CBD

We're looking for a forward-thinking engineering leader to drive our Substation Design team—bringing together deep technical expertise and strong leadership to drive the safe, reliable, and efficient delivery of critical energy infrastructure.

Your Role in Action
- Manage and deliver substation design standards, concept designs and estimates to meet relevant regulatory and standard requirements.
- Champion cross training of all staff within Substation Design.
- Lead the planning, scoping, scheduling, coordination, design and engineering of relevant design projects.
- Deliver project specific designs across all required areas of expertise including primary, secondary and civil/structural / customer disciplines ensuring all designs are safe, reliable and affordable.
- Manage and provide relevant specifications, standards, manuals and systems for the responsible area.
- Manage and develop quality feedback systems
- Develop and implement standard designs, templates, engineering guides and specifications resulting in safe, reliable and affordable designs.
- Contribute to and support risk management.
- Contribute to and support the optimisation of capital expenditure through efficient and effective engineering design.
- Contribute to and support the development and maintenance of design standards and planning criteria.
- Continuously manage and develop talent of employees through effective execution of employee performance outcomes through established systems and processes
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Degree in Engineering, eligible for corporate membership of the institution of Engineers Australia
- In-depth knowledge and extensive experience of policies, procedures, standards and regulations related to substation design
- Good knowledge of primary plant specifications and their application
- Skills and capability in front-line management, work management, design coordination and ability to schedule tasks and resources to meet project requirements
- Understanding risk management and its application within business
- In-depth knowledge and extensive experience of policies, procedures, standards and regulations related to substation design
