Engineering Team Leader – Dx Strategy - Permanent Full Time – Perth CBD
Step into a leadership role where you’ll guide a high-performing engineering team shaping the future of asset management in Western Power’s distribution network. In this pivotal position, you’ll champion the development and implementation of best-practice strategies that optimise asset performance across their full life cycle.
You’ll define asset management strategies, drive performance assessment, and develop optimum risk-mitigation and operational plans—ensuring our assets operate safely, efficiently, and sustainably. From establishing robust processes to influencing business-critical decisions, you’ll have a direct impact on achieving excellence across our distribution network asset classes.
Your Role in Action
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers and analysts operating in a dynamic, complex technical environment.
- Drive continuous improvement, innovation and the adoption of new technologies across the team.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure team capability and performance through effective talent and performance management practices.
- Collaborate across organisational boundaries to achieve asset and asset system performance objectives.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate the team’s work to meet operational and strategic goals.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities that enhance asset life cycle management.
- Develop asset management strategies that support maintenance, life extension and renewal of in-service assets.
- Lead monitoring, reporting and forecasting of risk and performance for distribution in-service assets.
- Lead development of long-term network investment plan and regulatory access arrangement submissions for in-service distribution network assets.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Degree in Engineering.
- Eligible for Professional Engineer membership (MIEAust) with Engineers Australia.
- Comprehensive asset management knowledge and experience, preferably working with a regulated utility.
- Demonstrated ability in continuous improvement and innovation in the management of physical assets.
- Demonstrated experience developing and leading high-performing teams.
- Strong communicator, good articulation skill, strategic acumen.
