Engineering Team Leader – Permanent Full Time – Perth CBD
Step into a leadership role where you’ll guide a high-performing engineering team shaping the future of asset management. In this pivotal position, you’ll champion the development and implementation of best-practice strategies that optimise asset performance across their full life cycle.
You’ll define maintenance standards, drive performance assessment, and develop smart risk-mitigation and operational plans—ensuring our assets operate safely, efficiently, and sustainably. From establishing robust processes to influencing business-critical decisions, you’ll have a direct impact on achieving excellence across our asset classes.
Your Role in Action
- Lead and inspire a team of engineering professionals in a dynamic and technically complex environment.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement, fostering the adoption of new technologies and best practices.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enable effective collaboration.
- Develop team capability and performance through proactive talent development and performance management.
- Collaborate across the organisation to deliver on asset and system performance objectives.
- Identify and implement improvements that enhance asset lifecycle management and operational efficiency.
- Define asset selection criteria and prepare asset lists for annual replacement and maintenance programs.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate team activities to meet operational and strategic goals.
- Lead root cause analysis for asset failures and ensure high-quality reporting standards.
- Oversee annual maintenance planning and business case development aligned with strategies, network plans, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical expertise to support network planning and regulatory submissions.
- Ensure accurate data analysis and reporting using organisational information systems.
- Maintain compliance with governance processes, including the Investment Governance Framework.
- Monitor and analyse program performance for OPEX and CAPEX delivery to ensure successful outcomes.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Degree in Engineering
- Eligible for Professional Engineer membership (MIEAust) with Engineers Australia
- Extensive experience in commerce and asset management, complemented by expertise in asset failure investigations and root cause analysis
- Knowledge and understanding of recognised Asset Management Frameworks and systems
- Demonstrated ability in continuous improvement and innovation in the management of physical assets
- Demonstrated experience leading, developing, and scheduling high-performing teams
