Estimator

We’re looking for an Estimator to step into a key 12-month fixed-term role within our Finance team, where your expertise will directly shape smart, value-driven cost estimates that support essential capital works and standardised programs.

 

Your Role in Action  

 

  • Shape project success from the start by contributing to clear, accurate scoping and cost estimates for program, project and customer-funded works
  • Bring strong technical insight to planning-phase estimates for projects, ensuring confidence in scope, cost and value
  • Lead the delivery of high-quality estimates for minor capital works and volumetric programs, including complex, non-standard “bottom-up” estimates
  • Play a key role in developing, maintaining and improving unit rates, compatible units, standard jobs and estimating toolsets
  • Drive continuous improvement by refining estimating methodologies, processes and systems to support best-practice outcomes
  • Provide trusted advice on design, construction and commissioning considerations to strengthen project scope definitions
  • Keep estimating rates current and transparent by maintaining and communicating updates to the rates catalogue
  • Take ownership of quality, accuracy and efficiency, delivering outputs that align with business goals and workforce best practice

 

What Makes You a Great Fit 

 

  • Experience in estimating or a related discipline, with the ability to translate information into clear, reliable cost outcomes
  • A solid understanding of estimating practices, procedures and tools, and a willingness to keep learning and improving
  • Confidence working independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines and deliver accurate estimates in fast-paced environments
  • An understanding of risk assessment and risk management principles, with a thoughtful approach to balancing cost, scope and uncertainty
  • General knowledge of project and contract management practices, and how they connect to successful delivery
  • A trade or technical qualification, or equivalent practical experience, bringing real-world insight to estimation work
