Finance Officer
Perth Office - CBD, WA, AU, 6000
We are seeking a highly motivated Finance Officer for a 6-month fixed-term appointment (with the possibility of extension) at our Perth Office. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring apprenticeship and other government funded payments are processed and accounted for accurately and promptly, in compliance with the necessary financial controls and authorities.
The ideal candidate will be someone who is highly organised, diligent, and has a keen attention to detail.
If you have previous experience in a high-volume claims environment or a similar financial background, this is a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate your expertise.
Your Role in Action

Preparation of claims including associated documents.

Responding to internal and external customers regarding general payment enquiries

Providing analysis of statistical payment data

Actioning stop payments requests, issuing of replacements cheques, stale and cancelled

Liaise with other parts of the organisation to gather required documents to process claims.

Scan unclaimed monies for payments due to Western Power and action accordingly.

Assists with accounting operations work where required.

Adhoc administration support work as required

A willingness to learn and support the team with Entry Level Programs
What Makes You a Great Fit

Demonstrated solid experience in high volume transactional payments within a financial management environment or similar.

Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.

Strong organisational and time-management skills.

Strong customer focus, stakeholder management, influencing, interpersonal and communication skills.

Experience with MS Office suite – preferably intermediate expertise in Microsoft applications inclusive and other financial systems

Ability to effectively prioritise deadlines and work loads.

Working knowledge of Microsoft suite of systems
