Fleet Maintenance Team Leader

You will be an experienced and proactive Fleet Maintenance Team Leader based at Western Power’s Northam Depot, to oversee the daily operations of our Fleet Maintenance Workshop and lead a team of skilled technicians. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient management of preventative maintenance programs and making sure our fleet meets all regulatory requirements.

 

Your Role in Action  

 

  • Lead the team in undertaking daily workshop activities and drive performance
  • Manage workshop budgets and monitor team key performance indicators
  • Manage preventative maintenance schedules and compliance with relevant regulations and manufacturer guidelines
  • Coordinate across the business to deliver services
  • Develop, implement, and maintain effective workshop processes
  • Ensure all activities comply with relevant legislation and foster positive employee relations and safety practices
  • Champion a strong safety culture and uphold the highest health and safety standards in the workplace
  • Work with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure cost-effective operations
  • Communicate clearly with customers regarding inspections, repairs, and service expectations
  • Oversee the delivery of 24/7 breakdown services and repairs

 

What Makes You a Great Fit 

 

  • Minimum 5 years proven leadership experience in a maintenance work environment
  • Minimum 5 years post trade experience in a heavy vehicle, diverse or mining fleet background.
  • Ability to lead a team of employees to meet organisational goals and objectives
  • Exceptional organisation and time management abilities to manage competing priorities.
  • Experience with continuous improvement/quality systems in a fleet environment.
  • A sound knowledge in the operation and implementation of OHSE in a workshop environment.
  • A commitment to workplace safety and compliance
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and operational systems
  • Valid WA Driver’s License Class ‘C’ or ‘C-A’.
  • Minimum of AQF3 Mechanical Tradesmen Qualification.
