In this permanent opportunity as our Head of People Capability, you’ll lead the strategic evolution of capability across our technical workforce, delivering modern training, strong competency frameworks, and seamless contractor onboarding to unlock performance now and fuel our future growth.

 

Your Role in Action  

 

  • Set the strategic direction for technical capability, leading the design and optimisation of end-to-end programs that strengthen operational performance today and enable long-term workforce resilience.
  • Shape a scalable future workforce, delivering innovative, fit-for-purpose capability solutions that anticipate growth, emerging technologies, and changing operational demands.
  • Establish strong operating models, embedding clear structures, systems, and rhythms that drive consistent, high-quality training, assessment, and competency outcomes across employees and contractors.
  • Own the evolution of training systems, ensuring alignment with safety, regulatory, and assurance requirements while lifting quality, efficiency, and learner experience.
  • Define and right-size contractor onboarding and competency standards, balancing risk, compliance, and speed to mobilise capability at scale.
  • Lead entry-level and early-career capability pathways that support ongoing capacity and succession needs.
  • Partner with operational leaders, regulators, and external providers, building trusted relationships to influence outcomes and deliver shared value.
  • Provide strong governance and stewardship, with clear oversight of risk, compliance, and investment to ensure capability outcomes are delivered responsibly and sustainably.

 

What Makes You a Great Fit

 

  • Proven expertise in capability and technical training, with the ability to design and evolve programs that deliver real operational impact.
  • A confident, inclusive leader and influencer, able to inspire teams, communicate with clarity, and bring diverse stakeholders on the journey.
  • Demonstrated experience leading change, successfully navigating complex environments and translating strategy into sustainable outcomes.
  • Strong stakeholder partnership skills, with the credibility to work collaboratively across operations, regulators, and external partners.
  • A solid understanding of regulatory, commercial, and technology drivers, and how they shape workforce capability and performance.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business Management, Learning & Development, Human Resources, or a related discipline.
