HR Business Partner - Operations / Full-Time / Hybrid work (primary location South Metro Depot, Forrestdale)

 

Join a team of dedicated HR professionals who play a vital role in supporting Western Power’s critical operations.

 

As part of the HRBP Operations team, you’ll manage a dynamic and diverse portfolio, partnering with both professional and operational stakeholders across the Perth metro area and some regional locations. You’ll collaborate closely with teams across HR, Safety & Health, and other key stakeholders to provide practical, risk-informed HR advice that enables leaders to deliver positive outcomes for their teams and the business.

 

Your primary base will be our state-of-the-art South Metro Depot, with flexibility to work from Perth Head Office, from home, with occasional travel to regional sites (day trips or overnight).

 

This is a hands-on, highly interactive role within a friendly and supportive team, where building strong relationships and maintaining active engagement with stakeholders is essential to driving meaningful outcomes.

 

Your Role in Action 

                                                                    

  • Lead, coach, and develop leaders within your portfolio to embed consistent, best-practice leadership.
  • Provide HR advice that aligns with legislation, enterprise agreements, and internal policies.
  • Partner with senior leaders to build capability and strengthen people management, sharing insights and updates regularly.
  • Collaborate across the People Experience function to deliver key HR initiatives within your portfolio.
  • Build strong relationships with colleagues, leaders, and stakeholders to understand and respond to organisational needs.
  • Champion continuous improvement in HR service delivery and partnering effectiveness.

 

About You 

 

  • Tertiary qualifications in HR, Industrial Relations, or a related discipline.
  • Strong generalist HR experience, including employee relations and HR program implementation.
  • Experience in operational or professional workforce settings, with exposure to industrial tribunals or commissions highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide practical HR advice and solutions across complex organisational environments.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and business acumen to manage complex projects and influence outcomes.
  • Experience in process improvement with a strategic mind, identifying opportunities for improvement and driving initiatives that enhance efficiency, impact, and employee experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, influencing, and communication skills, with the ability to build productive relationships and drive behavioural change.
  • Advanced prioritisation, attention to detail, and risk assessment capabilities.
