Major Customer Connections Team Leader – Permanent Full Time / Perth CBD

 

The Major Customer Connections Team Leader is responsible for leading a high-performing team focused on progressing large-scale grid connection projects for major commercial and industrial customers. This role involves driving customer satisfaction, fostering a collaborative and safe working environment, and nurturing talent through professional development. The position requires alignment with Western Power’s values and objectives, ensuring the team delivers on customer needs while mitigating business risks.

 

Key responsibilities include managing grid connection projects for industries such as renewable energy, mining, and data centres, while contributing to business growth and revenue. The growth of large-scale renewable grid connections demand to support Decarbonisation is significant and very dynamic. This environment can bring a volume of unplanned activity  within the business which requires the ability to manage varying tasks  at the same time underpinned by a methodical approach and robust organisational skills.

 

Your Role in Action

 

  • Continue to assess overall service performance against expectations and intervene as required to ensure all key customer and business outcomes are achieved.
  • Meet and sustain allocated legal and regulatory compliance and governance obligations.
  • Ensure commercial, business, and financial reporting/planning/budget outcomes are achieved and sustained.
  • Nurture talent through effective management of employees’ performance and development via established systems and processes.
  • Contribute to and support the Safety, Health, Security and Environmental programs.
  • Provide internal and external support to the Senior Access Consultants, where required, to implement grid connection projects as quickly as possible, including the support to Senior Access Consultants in efficient resolution of major customer escalations.
  • Proactively equip the team in all aspects of customer communication and internal communication to help minimise customer angst and increase awareness and education to deal with difficult queries and customers.

 

 What Makes You a Great Fit 

 

  • Tertiary qualifications in a commercial or business discipline
  • A broad and or deep knowledge within a customer service environment or strategic business-related area
  • Demonstrated ability to support and implement fit for purpose, or customer and user centred service strategies
  • Strong leadership, influencing, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Significant experience in managing complex environments
