Modern Workplace Team Leader

We're looking for an experienced Modern Workplace Team Leader to join our Technology team in a newly created permanent role. This is an exciting opportunity to establish and lead a team responsible for our modern workplace platform, driving capability uplift and enhancing the maturity of our digital workplace environment.

 

As a trusted technology partner to the business, you'll champion business outcomes through effective platform governance, monitor platform utilisation, and ensure our workplace technologies remain secure, reliable, and fit for purpose. You'll also play a key role in managing relationships with external service providers and supporting internal customers to maximise value from our technology investments.

 

Your Role in Action  

 

  • Establish, lead and develop a high-performing Modern Workplace team, building the capability, skills and culture required to support and continuously improve workplace platforms and services.
  • Drive the evolution and maturity of Western Power's modern workplace environment, delivering reliable, secure and user-centric solutions that enable productivity, collaboration and digital ways of working.
  • Provide strategic leadership across modern workplace platforms, ensuring systems remain fit-for-purpose, aligned to business needs, and compliant with ICT standards, governance and best practices.
  • Partner closely with business stakeholders to understand evolving requirements, influence outcomes, and translate business needs into effective technology solutions and platform enhancements.
  • Oversee the performance and delivery of internal teams and external service providers, ensuring services meet agreed outcomes, service levels, quality standards and value expectations.
  • Set priorities and balance competing demands, driving proactive initiatives such as adoption, training and optimisation activities, while ensuring timely resolution of incidents, risks and operational issues.
  • Lead platform health, lifecycle and continuous improvement activities, including system maintenance, performance monitoring, issue analysis, roadmap planning and the identification of opportunities to increase value and capability.
  • Contribute to technology leadership and planning, including business case development, budgeting, financial management, reporting, and the successful delivery of strategic workplace technology initiatives.

  • Demonstrated experience leading and enhancing Modern Workplace platforms and services, with a passion for driving adoption, continuous improvement and digital workplace maturity.
  • A values-led people leader with a proven track record of building high-performing teams, developing capability and fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
  • Significant experience leading enterprise technology platforms within large and complex environments.
  • Strong understanding of platform governance, risk, compliance and operational service management.
  • Strong understanding of modern IT service management practices and the governance required to maintain secure, reliable and fit-for-purpose workplace technologies.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to navigate competing priorities and build trusted partnerships across technical and business audiences.
  • A customer-focused and commercially minded leader who combines strategic thinking with practical delivery to create positive employee experiences and maximise business value from technology investments.
