Your Role in Action
- Accountable for ensuring the successful delivery of the distribution works program including execution of capital programs, maintenance programs and standalone programs and projects, in adherence with the outlined delivery strategy.
- Facilitate and execute negotiations with Sponsors, ensuring impactful agreements and commitments that benefit Western Power, its business partners, and customers.
- Develop effective functional and cross functional working relationships with other managers in other business units to ensure alignment and consistency of workflow, management practices and processes.
- Ensure the effective management of resources within your area including people, vehicles, plant and equipment.
- Establish reporting mechanisms to monitor delivery and performance for your team and ensure that progress is monitored and discussed, and corrective actions implemented as required.
- Provide input into the development of the Functional plan and ensure that you deliver key actions assigned to you. Sponsor and communicate the plan in your area.
- Manage talent through effective execution of employee performance outcomes through established system and processes and the ongoing development of employees.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Tertiary qualification in Project Management, Commerce, Business or related discipline
- Strong knowledge of the operations of, preferably, a distribution and transmission business, with at least 8 to 10+ years’ demonstrated experience in providing effective program management of a field works
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to think strategically with the ability to manage several priorities
- A collaborative approach with the ability to build effective partnerships within own area and across the organisation.
- Strong business and commercial acumen with well-developed influencing, communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in developing and maintaining a safe working environment
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of budgeting/finance systems including monitoring and control
- Valid WA Driver’s License Class ‘C’ or ‘C-A’
