Network Project Delivery Team Leader – Permanent – Perth CBD
This position is responsible for leading and developing a team of project delivery professionals accountable for the successful delivery of assigned projects and/or programs within the Network Project Delivery – Transmission, SCADA & Telecommunications area.
The position provides leadership, delivery oversight and assurance across project execution, ensuring delivery commitments are achieved in accordance with Western Power’s project management and investment governance requirements, with a strong focus on safety, schedule, financial performance, risk, quality and stakeholder engagement.
The position is accountable for setting clear expectations, developing team capability and maintaining strong delivery discipline, while supporting Project Managers and their teams to identify and resolve delivery constraints, manage risks and achieve agreed project and program outcomes. The role also promotes strong safety leadership and effective engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
Your Role in Action

Accountable for overseeing the successful delivery of assigned projects and/or programs, ensuring commitments for safety, scope, quality, schedule and financial performance are effectively managed.

Provide clear leadership, direction and support to Project Managers and project delivery teams, ensuring resources and priorities are appropriately aligned to achieve agreed delivery outcomes.

Ensure projects are effectively governed and managed in accordance with Western Power’s project management and investment governance frameworks, systems, controls and processes.

Provide delivery oversight and assurance, proactively identifying and addressing risks, constraints, emerging issues and performance concerns, with appropriate escalation where required.

Support the Area Manager in driving consistent and effective project delivery, including standardisation, continuous improvement and strong delivery discipline across the area.

Build and maintain constructive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and delivery partners, promoting open communication, collaboration and effective resolution of delivery issues.

Ensure projects are appropriately established and ready for execution, with scope, delivery strategies, controls, risks, interfaces and stakeholder requirements clearly defined and understood.

Provide strong safety leadership, setting clear expectations and promoting active engagement with project teams, worksites and delivery partners.

Lead, coach and develop team members, setting clear expectations, building capability, supporting career development and creating a high-performing and accountable team environment.
What Makes You a Great Fit

Professionally qualified in Project Management, for example PMP, PRINCE2 or RegPM.

Degree qualified and/or possessing relevant industry/operational experience.

Demonstrated experience leading teams of up to 20 multidisciplinary professionals, with strong organisational and leadership capability.

Extensive project management knowledge and experience within an electrical utility environment, including a high-level understanding of the technical concepts and disciplines that contribute to successful project delivery.

Broad knowledge and understanding across multiple project delivery and technical disciplines, and/or recognised expertise within a specialised field.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality outputs within short timeframes and clearly communicate complex concepts.
