Operational Improvement Program Team Leader: Permanent – Perth Office CBD

 

We are seeking an Operational Improvement Program Team Leader to guide and develop a team of professionals dedicated to the optimal delivery of key projects and programs aligned to Strategic Objectives. This role requires ensuring that all aspects - scope, quality, time, and budget are met while effectively managing associated risks and issues. Your leadership will be vital in setting clear expectations and holding the team accountable for achieving targeted outcomes.

 

In this position, you will provide technical direction to facilitate the successful planning, design and execution of fit for purpose solutions. You will oversee governance, milestone achievement, resource allocation, financial performance, and stakeholder engagement, ensuring that all projects align with established goals and deliver the intended benefits. Your Role in Action  

 

  • Accountable for the delivery and managing the implementation of assigned programs of work and concurrent projects, including responsibility for ensuring that scope, quality, time, and budget targets are met and for managing the associated risk and benefits realisation
  • To identify, attract, retain and nurture talent through providing support for personal development and succession planning thus ensuring ongoing business continuity and success
  • Accountable for leading a team responsible for driving and delivering sound and robust commercial awareness in the operational resource areas within Asset Operations Business Unit.
  • Drive commercial awareness throughout the operational resource areas and develop an environment which fosters the opportunity for operational improvement initiatives to be identified and implemented across the whole Asset Operations business unit.
  • Accountable for providing technical leadership in driving the successful planning, organising, design of solutions and delivery of the assigned program and all interdependent projects
  • Accountable for planning for program success through the delivery of the overall program and or related projects activities in accordance with business requirements and the strategic goals of the organization
  • Manage the assigned program and associated projects with the mandate and accountability to ensure outcomes are achieved in a timely manner; cross function and initiative interdependencies, risks, issues and assumptions are identified, monitored and actively managed
  • Lead the evaluation of operational processes to determine if they are meeting outcomes in line with the business strategy
  • Build a program to achieve operational improvement outcomes including development of business case, briefing papers, budgets, project plans and manage the required approvals process
  • Develop effective working relationships with Asset Operations leaders to ensure alignment and consistency of workflow, management practices and processes.
  • Manage talent through effective execution of employee performance outcomes through established system and processes and the ongoing development of employees
  • Coach and develop direct reports to ensure they are developing to their full potential and mentor them in key people procedures

 

What Makes You a Great Fit 

 

  • Industry accreditation in project management, either PMBOK®, Prince2™, MSP™ or RegPM.
  • Experience in leading, managing and inspiring high performing teams
  • Extensive knowledge within program / project management environment or related discipline requiring an understanding of project management methodologies, practices and principles
  • Strong strategic Acumen with experience in cascading business objectives, understanding operational requirements and improvement opportunities.
  • Strong experience of planning, organising and integrating recourses, budgetary and work program planning, resource management, communication and quality assurance
  • Strong organisation and time management abilities to manage competing priorities
  • Strong leadership, influencing, communication and interpersonal skills to relate to all levels (Executive to frontline)
  • Demonstrated experience across multiple industries with a commercial approach to deliver program solutions that support business strategies
  • Proven business / process improvement skills and the ability to align detail orientated tasks with the "big picture" and communicates accordingly
