We’re right in the thick of a major transformation, migrating from Ellipse to SAP and your expertise will be crucial in helping us build strong, compliant foundations for the future.
Your Role in Action
- Spot issues before they happen - Monitor payroll data trends to proactively identify compliance gaps and operational inefficiencies.
- Own the fix, lead the change – Investigate overpayments and underpayments, working hands-on with the payroll team to resolve issues and strengthen future controls.
- Be audit-ready - Help us shine during audits by preparing clear, accurate documentation and confidently managing external queries.
- Stay sharp, stay current - Keep your finger on the pulse of industry best practices and legislative changes, embedding insights into how we work.
- Connect the dots across teams – Partner closely with HR, Finance, and Systems teams to align policies, streamline workflows, and ensure accurate data flow.
- Coach and empower others – Provide expert guidance and training to the payroll team on compliance, internal controls, and interpreting policy with confidence.
- Mitigate risk with confidence – Regularly assess payroll risk and lead the design of practical strategies to keep our operations safe and compliant.
- Drive smarter systems – Play a key role in payroll system upgrades or implementations, ensuring strong controls and scalable solutions from day one.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Experience in payroll compliance or audit within a large, dynamic or complex organisation.
- Confident using SAP and comfortable navigating large payroll systems and data flows.
- Deep understanding of payroll legislation, including the Fair Work Act, EBAs, and award interpretation.
- A proactive eye for compliance risks - you've identified gaps, implemented fixes, and helped shape best practice.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to resolve payroll discrepancies and deliver insights through Excel
- Trusted judgement and integrity - you're solutions-focused, people-minded, and always one step ahead.
