Payroll Officer

We’re on the lookout for an enthusiastic Payroll Officer who’s passionate about people and precision. In this 18-month fixed-term role, you’ll make sure every team member is paid accurately and on time, because you know that great service starts with trust and care. You’ll be a go-to expert, solving problems, answering questions, and creating a positive experience for everyone you support.

 

Your Role in Action  

 

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee payroll records in our corporate systems at all times
  • Deliver operational excellence by completing payroll input accurately each fortnight and providing high-quality service to stakeholders
  • Work independently, effectively prioritising tasks while staying calm and positive during peak periods, and offering support to team members
  • Demonstrate agility and a continuous improvement mindset in a dynamic, evolving environment
  • Apply strong knowledge of industrial agreements, policies, procedures, and legislation to ensure accurate and compliant payroll processing
  • Respond promptly to employee payroll enquiries and deliver expert advice on matters such as leave, superannuation, taxation, salary packaging, and terminations

 

 What Makes You a Great Fit 

 

  • Sound operational experience in payroll processing work in a large, complex organisation – including award interpretation, rostering & shift work, timesheets
  • Experience in parental leave & workers compensation highly welcomed!
  • Good knowledge of Australian payroll legislative requirements
  • Attention to detail and proven track record in achieving accuracy and high standards of work to set deadlines
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge or exposure in SAP desirable but not essential
