We’re looking for a passionate and driven Payroll Team Leader to join our Finance team in a permanent position. You’ll lead a dedicated team that plays a vital role in supporting every employee through accurate, timely, and compliant payroll services. If you're ready to take ownership, navigate complexity, and bring confidence to the people who rely on you every payday—this is your opportunity to lead with purpose.

Your Role in Action

  • Lead with precision: Drive timely, accurate payroll processing that keeps our people paid and supported—every time.
  • Champion compliance: Ensure every dollar meets legal and regulatory requirements, protecting our people and our business.
  • Stay ahead of the curve: Interpret and implement payroll legislation changes before they impact operations.
  • Solve with purpose: Tackle payroll challenges with confidence—investigating issues, testing fixes, and improving systems.
  • Inspire operational excellence: Empower your team to deliver seamless service and uphold the highest payroll standards.
  • Plan for resilience: Safeguard continuity through proactive planning and risk mitigation.
  • Fuel improvement: Seek smarter ways of working—streamline processes and lead innovation across payroll and HR.
  • Build trust: Be the go-to expert for leaders and employees—clear, knowledgeable, and always ready to help.

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Inspiring leadership grounded in integrity, with a proven track record of guiding teams through values-led decision-making.
  • Hands-on experience with leading payroll systems such as Ellipse, SAP, or Oracle—you're confident navigating complex tech environments.
  • Expert knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, with strong understanding of payroll accounting and financial reporting.
  • Depth of experience managing payroll in large, complex organisations—including interpreting awards, managing shift-based rosters, and processing timesheets.
  • A mindset for improvement, with a history of successfully delivering system and process enhancements that drive real business value.
  • Strong qualifications, ideally a Payroll Management Certificate, or a relevant degree in Finance or Accounting.
