We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Economic Regulatory Advisor at our Perth CBD Office, on a Full-time permanent basis.

 


About this role

 

As the Principal Economic Regulatory Advisor, you will be required to provide expert advice and guidance, through extensive and broad experience and knowledge of regulated authorities, in the preparation of regulatory strategy and information to support Western Power’s submissions to the Economic Regulator. You will be required to undertake detailed & in-depth investigation, analysis and research into best practice to provide ongoing advice on economic and process issues to contribute to better commercial and regulatory outcomes for the business. 

 


About you

 

We are seeking someone with experience and attributes that include:

 

  • Degree qualification in Business, Economics, or Commerce
  • Extensive and accumulative experience and knowledge within a regulated enterprise (preferably in the energy sector), regulatory authority, or consulting organisation in relation to preparing submissions to economic regulators.
  • At least 10 to 15 years comprehensive & broad knowledge of economic regulatory frameworks, access codes and access arrangements.
  • Experience undertaking or analysing financial analysis utilising models and spreadsheets.
  • Strong ability to constructively engage with teams comprising executives, technical stakeholders and external consultants.
  • Expert analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced communications, interpersonal, presentations and facilitation skills
  • Advanced report writing with good negotiation skills.
