Join us in a permanent opportunity as a Principal Enterprise Architect within our Technology & Innovation Team, where you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping and evolving our enterprise architecture and technology roadmaps.

 

You’ll provide trusted technical thought leadership, ensuring our platforms, systems, and investments align with business goals and deliver measurable value. Bringing expertise across a range of technical and architectural disciplines, you’ll help integrate and advance innovative, secure, and scalable solutions, enabling smarter technology outcomes across Western Power.

 

Your Role in Action

 

  • Shape and champion Western Power’s architecture vision, identifying technology opportunities that inspire innovation and elevate technical capability across teams.
  • Develop and maintain multi-year technology roadmaps, partnering with internal stakeholders and external providers to ensure IT and Control Systems move in step with business priorities.
  • Embed strong governance by defining and upholding technology policies, standards, and guidelines that drive consistency, compliance, and quality outcomes.
  • Provide architectural oversight across projects and services delivered by external partners, ensuring solutions are fit-for-purpose and value-driven.
  • Support controlled innovation with service providers, balancing opportunity and risk to unlock the benefits of emerging technologies.
  • Offer hands-on technical leadership and mentorship.
  • Advance the Enterprise Architecture practice by enhancing frameworks, controls, and best practices to support effective design, integration, and continuous improvement.

 

What Makes You a Great Fit

 

  • Extensive IT experience with proven expertise in Business, Enterprise, or Solution Architecture, ideally within large, complex energy or utility environments.
  • Deep technical knowledge across cloud, data, cybersecurity, infrastructure, applications, and integration, with the ability to evaluate and leverage emerging technologies.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, able to solve complex problems and translate technology insights into practical business outcomes.
  • Hands-on experience in technology platforms, business process improvement, and distributed architectures, with a focus on driving value and efficiency.
  • Solid understanding of architecture practice management, including its role in supporting a dynamic, evolving organisation.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Systems Analysis, Engineering, or a related field.
