Principal Major Customer Grid Connections Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Principal Major Customer Grid Connections Specialist to support major customer portfolios and complex project requirements. This role is key in troubleshooting and resolving intricate customer issues, demonstrating advanced business acumen, negotiation skills, and relationship development. The position will focus on driving the successful delivery of renewable energy projects, ensuring timely resolutions to customer escalations, and supporting the efficient connection of large-scale transmission grid connections. As part of a dynamic team, you will contribute to Western Power's decarbonisation efforts while providing leadership and guidance across critical projects. Your Role in Action
- Assist Senior Access Consultants with developing strategies to keep connection projects moving forward.
- Portfolio management of selected Major Customer projects looking for connection to the Western Power grid.
- Build and maintain knowledge in the renewable energy sector to help keep Western Power informed of trends and industry change.
- Contribute to the continued process improvement for connection of major customer projects.
- Lead discussion with internal stakeholders on seeking improved methods of identifying solution options bringing efficiency to the most appropriate selection of a solution option for customer projects.
- Apply a balanced approach to all issues affecting Access Solutions. Issues are generally complex and rarely have one solution for all situations. The incumbent must be able to think and act broadly across the issues faced.
- Managing the resolution of Major Customer complex issues and challenges. Trouble shooting and issue resolution experience is essential.
- Supporting feasibility studies into emerging technologies to better understand the potential impacts to both Western Power’s business / operating model and our customers.
- Responsible for supporting project and program delivery health including overall governance, the achievement of set out milestones and timeframes, financial performance including cost, budgets and benefits, and stakeholder management.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Communications, Business Management, Project Management, or related discipline.
- Significant broad and deep knowledge and expertise in supporting and implementing fit for purpose, or customer and user centred service strategies
- Demonstrated experience in external stakeholder and Account Management engagement with C level clientele including devising and executing on engagement strategies.
- Proactive, tenacious, and strong influencing skills to drive successful delivery of results and meet stakeholder expectations
- Strong communication, negotiation and relationship skills and the ability to communicate at all levels of the organisation including Executive
- Strong business acumen, analytical and problem-solving skills and exposure to risk management and governance processes.
- Demonstrated ability to engage and drive stakeholders to produce outcomes which meet desired timeframes.
- Highly developed analytical skills required to be applied to complex organisational challenges and opportunities.
