Location:

Perth Office - CBD, WA, AU

5 Mar 2026

Step into a career-defining 12-month opportunity as our Principal Technology Platforms Consultant, where you’ll shape the future of Western Power’s platform and product operating model.

In this influential role, you’ll provide technical thought leadership that bridges strategy and execution—aligning bold business ambitions with modern, scalable technology capabilities. You’ll guide cross-functional program teams, champion best-practice standards and frameworks, and embed contemporary delivery approaches that drive real results.

Partnering with senior leaders, platform owners, and product managers, you’ll strengthen governance, clear delivery roadblocks, and unlock the full strategic value of our most critical technology assets.

Your Role in Action

  • Own and evolve our platform operating model, strengthening governance, standards, and ways of working to deliver measurable business value—lower total cost of ownership, reduced technical debt, and faster, more predictable delivery.
  • Provide independent assurance and strategic oversight, ensuring platforms and products consistently operate in line with agreed frameworks while proactively identifying opportunities to lift performance and resilience.
  • Lead and elevate cross-platform governance forums, enabling clear decision-making, transparency, and accountability across product, delivery, architecture, and technology teams.
  • Assess, benchmark, and continuously improve maturity, tracking benefits realisation and embedding data-driven insights to refine platform and product management practices.
  • Build enduring capability and a future-ready Centre of Excellence, coaching and mentoring teams, fostering cross-team learning, and embedding modern methodologies aligned to evolving industry standards.
  • Champion a strong product mindset, placing consumer needs, value creation, and experience at the centre of platform strategy and lifecycle management.
  • Advise and influence at all levels, partnering with senior leaders to align strategy and execution, manage complex cross-platform dependencies, and mitigate strategic risks with pragmatic, forward-looking solutions.
  • Advocate for the power of platforms, driving enterprise-wide collaboration, removing systemic barriers, and securing lasting stakeholder commitment to a high-performing, scalable operating model.

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Extensive experience in platform management, technology operating models, or enterprise architecture, with a track record of delivering impact in complex, enterprise environments.
  • Deep expertise in platform principles and lifecycle management, with the ability to enable scalable, service-oriented delivery that drives real business value.
  • Inclusive and influential leadership style, with strong stakeholder engagement and change management capability that brings people on the journey.
  • Proven success designing and embedding governance frameworks, performance metrics, and continuous improvement practices aligned to industry best standards.
  • Commercially astute, with experience across funding models, cost optimisation, and vendor partnerships that maximise return on investment.
  • Committed to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture, where different perspectives are valued and everyone can thrive.
