We have a permanent opportunity for a Principal Digital Products Enterprise Architect to provide strategic technology thought leadership that helps power Western Power’s long‑term success. You’ll lead the evolution of our enterprise architecture and multi‑year technology roadmaps, ensuring data and digital capabilities are fully aligned to business strategy and drive real value.

In this influential role, you’ll help unlock the full potential of technology investment, balancing innovation, governance and return on investment, while setting clear architectural direction and standards that enable consistent, secure and future‑ready outcomes across the enterprise.

Your Role in Action

  • Bring a holistic, enterprise‑wide understanding of business, information, application and technology architecture to guide strategic decision‑making that balances innovation, risk and long‑term value, while operating within established architecture principles and guardrails.
  • Lead distributed architecture decision‑making across product streams, working closely with solution architects and delivery teams to identify key decisions, interpret reference architectures, and ensure consistent, pragmatic outcomes.
  • Own and evolve the Product Architecture Runway, proactively identifying the capabilities, platforms and enablers required to support current delivery while positioning the organisation for future growth and change.
  • Drive enterprise architecture practices across products, coordinating dependencies, maximising reuse of shared capabilities, and escalating critical decisions to ensure alignment with broader Product and Digital Capability strategies.
  • Provide expert leadership across cyber security, infrastructure and application architecture for both IT and OT environments, strengthening resilience, reliability and security across Western Power’s technology landscape.
  • Influence and guide senior leaders and stakeholders across Technology, Innovation and the broader business, translating complex architectural concepts into clear direction that supports business strategy and outcomes.
  • Define, develop and maintain well‑articulated, multi‑year technology roadmaps, partnering with internal teams and external service providers to enable sustainable, future‑ready solutions.
  • Foster a culture of architectural excellence and continuous learning by mentoring technology teams, building strong relationships with peers and partners, and promoting thoughtful, controlled innovation.

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Strong understanding of application development approaches, along with infrastructure and network architecture, and how these come together to support scalable, resilient systems.
  • Extensive, broad‑based experience across IT, with demonstrated technical leadership in roles such as Enterprise Architect, Business Architect or Solution Architect.
  • Highly developed strategic and conceptual thinking, with the ability to solve complex problems and provide thought leadership across technology platforms, distributed architectures and business process optimisation.
  • A mature, pragmatic view of enterprise architecture, understanding how business, information, application and technology layers work together in a dynamic, evolving organisation.
  • Proven ability to translate business strategy and needs into clear architectural direction and technology requirements.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, enabling you to partner effectively with technical teams and business leaders to deliver aligned, sustainable outcomes.
