Program Manager – 24 month Max Term Contract – Perth CBD
We are seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead the delivery of a portfolio of large-scale Transmission and Distribution network projects. This role is responsible for driving safe, efficient and commercially sound project outcomes across the entire program lifecycle, from planning and prioritisation through to execution and close-out.
You will provide strategic leadership across the portfolio, manage key stakeholder relationships, and ensure projects are delivered in line with business objectives while providing leadership across project teams and key stakeholders.
The role is accountable for portfolio governance, reporting, financial management and performance monitoring, ensuring robust forecasting and investment optimisation. Working across program teams, you will manage interdependencies, prioritise competing demands, and drive disciplined execution to achieve successful portfolio outcomes.
Your Role in Action
- Lead and oversee the successful delivery of a portfolio of large-scale transmission and distribution infrastructure projects, ensuring outcomes are achieved safely, efficiently, and in line with approved budgets, schedules and quality standards.
- Develop and execute portfolio strategies, plans and priorities that align program delivery with organisational objectives, investment drivers and network requirements.
- Establish and maintain effective portfolio governance, reporting and performance management frameworks to support informed decision-making and successful program outcomes.
- Lead engagement, collaboration and negotiation with internal and external stakeholders to manage dependencies, resolve issues and achieve agreed business outcomes.
- Ensure program activities comply with corporate policies, governance frameworks, regulatory obligations and applicable industry standards.
- Provide financial leadership across the portfolio, including budgeting, forecasting, investment optimisation and performance monitoring, taking corrective action where required to maintain delivery objectives.
- Identify, assess and manage strategic, commercial, regulatory, legal, reputational and safety risks across the portfolio, implementing effective mitigation strategies.
- Provide timely and accurate portfolio reporting to sponsors and senior leadership, including insights and recommendations to improve delivery performance and support informed decision making.
- Manage portfolio interdependencies, resource constraints and competing priorities to optimise delivery performance and maximise value for the organisation.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Engineering, Business Management, Economics, Project Management or Finance.
- A seasoned professional with broad and or deep range of knowledge and expertise gained through comprehensive experience i.e. 10+ years in senior program/project management roles.
- Significant experience managing large scale, complex projects or portfolios comprising multiple concurrent projects and workstreams.
- Proven ability to provide strategic leadership and build high performing teams to successfully deliver complex, high value transmission and distribution projects.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex commercial, contract and tender negotiations involving high-value investments.
- Comprehensive negotiation and relationship skills and the ability to communicate at all levels of the organisation including C Suite.
- Ability to negotiate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve win-win outcomes.
- Demonstrated experience in portfolio governance, financial management, forecasting, investment optimisation and performance reporting.
