We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Program Manager at our head office in the Perth CBD, on a full-time permanent basis.


About this role

 

As the Program Manager you will be responsible for managing Western Power’s Distribution Customer Connection portfolio of work.  Representing Western Power in key customer management and providing technical leadership in managing a high-volume customer portfolio. You will be accountable for the overall success of the portfolio including planning, organizing, resource coordination, leading, and controlling program activities coupled with determining business information requirements as well as managing internal and external relationships to provide the necessary program/project support.

 

What you’ll be doing

 

  • Plan for program success through the delivery of the overall program and its activities in accordance with business requirements and the strategic goals of the organization.
  • Develop and implement long-term goals and objectives to achieve the successful outcome of the Distribution Customer Connection portfolio.
  • Develop strategic objectives, establish governance structures and identify resource requirements for the portfolio.
  • Identify emerging constraints impacting delivery of the portfolio.
  • Ensure that program activities operate in line with internal policies, frameworks and procedures.
  • Ensure that program activities comply with all relevant legislation and professional standards.
  • Determine business information requirements and influence internal relationships to provide the necessary project support.
  • Ensure that the portfolio operates within the approved budget while taking appropriate mitigating or corrective actions where required.
  • Successful risk management against regulatory, commercial, reputational, legal and safety risks.
  • Report evaluation findings to program sponsor / senior leadership and recommend changes to enhance the program, as appropriate


About you

 

We are seeking someone with experience and attributes that include:

 

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Engineering (preferred), Business Management, Economics, Project Management or Finance.
  • A seasoned professional with broad and or deep range of knowledge and expertise gained through comprehensive experience i.e. 10+ years in senior programme/project management roles.
  • Significant experience in managing programs of concurrent projects with multiple workstream’s.
  • Experienced in managing key customer and stakeholder relationships  where reputational impact is significant
  • Comprehensive negotiation and relationship skills and the ability to communicate at all levels of the organisation including C Suite.
  • Ability to negotiate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve win-win outcomes.
  • Ability to lead and influence project stakeholders to achieve project outcomes.
  • Ability to condense multiple information streams to make informed project decisions.
  • Proven technical leadership and team building skills when managing large and complex programs and projects
  • Strategic perspective, strong analytical and business acumen capability, ability to think conceptually and ability to apply business context to when generating solutions
