We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager at our Perth office CBD, on a Permanent Full-Time basis.


About this role

 

As the Project Manager you will be accountable for driving the delivery of high-quality end to end project management services for a complex portfolio of concurrent works projects for both internal and external customers. 

This will be achieved through ensuring successful project delivery, from commencement to project completion, through the Initiating, Planning Execution, Monitoring, Control and Closing phases in alignment with Western Power’s Investment Governance Framework including:

 

  • Contributes to and reviews the project proposal or plan to determine timeframe, resourcing implications, funding limitations and operating procedures for accomplishing the project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of the project.
  • Accurately identify stakeholders’ needs, respond with empathy and demonstrate the effective interpersonal skills and integrity.
  • Administer and manage the budgeting, estimation, scoping and resourcing of projects through the approvals process.
  • Development of accurate and effective project programs.
  • Co-ordinate with and support the wider project team across diverse sections of the business to ensure successful completion of project requirements including analyse, strategically plan, implement and manage the contracts necessary for completion of the various project component works.
  • Provides interface and maintains relationships with other contributors to the project
  • May negotiate minor changes to project specifications/scope with the sponsor/client
  • Contributes to setting project evaluation parameters.
  • Regularly reports project progress to senior management and/or the sponsor/client.
  • Effective management of external funding agreements for projects within portfolio.
  • Determine, set, review and analyse project and works performance data to optimise performance and delivery of project outcomes.
  • Assemble and schedule required project teams to meet project requirements, prescribing appropriate tasks and priorities and monitoring accordingly

 

 

About you

 

We are seeking someone with experience and attributes that include:

 

  • Trade / Tertiary Qualifications in Engineering or Construction or Project Management,
  • Industry accreditation in project management, RegPM / PMI
  • At least 10 + years significant project management experience including high value / highly complex projects
  • Demonstrated extensive and broad experience in project management, program planning, data management, integration and communication in relevant industries is essential.
  • Strong experience in negotiation, conflict resolution and managing public and stakeholder relations.
  • Strong data analysis skills and financial acumen including the ability to interpret financial data and reports. Utilise project knowledge to accurately budget and forecast expenditure and productivity
  • Experience in project reporting with advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Industry experience with a working understanding of the electrical network and relevant work practices, policies and standards
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
