Project Manager: 12 Month Maximum Term – Full-Time / Perth CBD

 

We are seeking an accomplished infrastructure Project Manager to join the Major Capital Connection Services (MCCS) team. In this role, you will oversee the end-to-end process for customers needing electrical network connections or electrical asset alterations. You will lead design, scoping, scheduling, construction, and contract management activities, ensuring effective project delivery across various market segments. Your Role in Action  

 

  • Ensuring complex projects are delivered to agreed standards for safety, cost, schedule, quality, scope, and meet customer and stakeholder expectations.
  • Significantly complex projects may include a high level of technological, reputational, safety or commercial risk representing a material impact on Western Power and its stakeholders.
  • Significantly complex projects include electrical network infrastructure to connect large scale renewable generation and batteries as part of the decarbonisation, major industrial loads, mining projects and relocating existing assets to enable high profile initiatives by the WA Government’s infrastructure projects, including MetroNet, MRWA’s major road and rail projects.
  • Execute all projects according to Western Powers Project Methodology, Standards, Processes and Governance framework.
  • Ensure project financials are managed, maintained, forecasted via P6, and can be reported upon in terms of Capex and Opex.
  • Report the status of the assigned projects pro-actively and on an ongoing basis to key stakeholders and Team Leader, and co-ordinate and manage the work of the project team through up-to-date resource plans and project schedules.
  • Build effective project teams across diverse Functions of the enterprise to deliver required project and program outcomes.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to less experienced project management staff.

 

What Makes You a Great Fit  

 

  • Tertiary Qualifications in Project Management, Engineering or Construction or at least 8 to 10 years demonstrable industry infrastructure experience.
  • Industry accreditation in project management, RegPM / PMI.
  • In addition to having at least 3 to 4 years’ demonstrated experience managing and delivering projects, a further 5 years extensive expertise in delivering complex programs / projects utilising industry standard project methodology such as PMBOK or Prince 2.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with project stakeholders and Senior leaders through superior communication and interpersonal skills thereby being able to negotiate and manage conflicts.
  • Self-motivated and the ability to manage time and prioritise effort.
  • Interaction with others is primarily concerned with influencing, developing, motivating, and changing behaviour.
  • Extensive financial acumen including the ability to interpret financial data and reports. Utilise project knowledge to accurately budget and forecast expenditure and productivity
  • Valid WA Driver’s License Class ‘C’ or ‘C-A’.
