This is a unique and exciting time to be a part of the Network Maintenance, Planning & Delivery team at Western Power. We manage planned, as well as reactive works for distribution and transmission networks and play a key role in developing annual work plans in addition to responding to day-to-day queries and requests from various parts of the business.
Being a part of Network Maintenance, Planning and Delivery Function, you will partner with key stakeholders in shaping and delivering projects aligned to the wider business objectives. We collaborate with multiple teams to convert business strategies to deliverable works and assist in identifying and implementing operational improvement initiatives. We’ve worked on varied projects such as Kalbarri battery energy storage solutions, fibre optic network upgrades, network expansion projects, by joining us you will be a part of the future of the network.
In the Network Delivery Area specifically, we deliver various network driven projects and programs of work. We achieve this through applying strong project management principles and by working as a team. This kind of network transformation is a once in a generational occurrence, and we’re excited for you to be a part of it!
We’re looking for a Project Manager to join us on a full-time basis at the Perth CBD Office.
Your Role in Action
As the Project Manager, you will be accountable for the overall delivery of projects to agreed criteria, within commercially competitive standards for safety, cost, timeliness, quality, and scope and to the expectations of our customers and stakeholders.
This position will manage and deliver projects of significant complexity / value / visibility and reputational impact to Western Power, with a primary focus on delivery of Distribution network assets including ≤33kV underground and overhead assets, as well as secondary system upgrades required to deliver safe, affordable, and reliable energy to our customers.
What Makes You a Great Fit
We are seeking someone with experience and attributes that include:

Trade / Tertiary Qualifications in Engineering or Construction or at least 8 to 10 years demonstrable industry experience

Industry accreditation in project management, RegPM / PMI

In addition to having at least 3 to 4 years’ demonstrated experience managing and delivering civil infrastructure projects, a further 5 years extensive expertise in delivering complex programs / projects utilising industry standard project methodology such as PMBOK or Prince 2.

Ability to build strong working relationships with project stakeholders and Senior leaders through superior communication and interpersonal skills

Self-motivated and the ability to manage time and prioritise effort

Interaction with others is primarily concerned with influencing, developing, motivating and changing behaviour

Extensive financial acumen including the ability to interpret financial data and reports. Utilise project knowledge to accurately budget and forecast expenditure and productivity

Highly developed negotiation and conflict management skills.

Experience delivering projects within a corporate governance framework, including formal reporting and change management experience

Valid WA Driver’s License Class ‘C’ or ‘C-A’
