Perth Office - CBD, WA, AU
We’re looking for a values-led leader who brings empathy, influence, and a passion for developing others to step into a permanent Safety Advisory and Partnering Manager opportunity. You’ll empower your team to embed meaningful, strategic safety initiatives and continuously strengthen our safety systems across Western Power. You’ll help cultivate a connected, proactive, and risk-aware safety culture that truly puts people first through authentic relationships and thoughtful collaboration.
Guided by our People Strategy, we are intentionally weaving safety into our DNA to protect and care for our people, and as we evolve our People Business Unit, enhanced business partnering is a key pillar to bring strategic support closer to where it matters most. This role is central to that journey, and you’ll play a pivotal part in safeguarding our people by uplifting business partner capability and embedding safety as a shared value.
Apply today and inspire teams to take genuine ownership of risk management, compliance, and continuous improvement to create a safer, more resilient future together through coaching, collaboration, and trusted influence.
Your Role in Action
- Lead with care and intention to shape a people-first safety culture, role modelling inclusive leadership and guiding teams to genuinely embed safe practices into everyday decisions and behaviours.
- Develop, coach, and empower a team of Safety Business Partners, uplifting their capability, confidence, and professional impact so they can influence effectively and partner meaningfully with the business.
- Build strong, trusted partnerships with in-field and support teams, using curiosity and insight to identify hazards, assess risk, and co-create practical, sustainable solutions.
- Use your influence to foster a culture of openness and trust, encouraging honest conversations, shared accountability, and a proactive approach to managing risk and improving safety outcomes.
- Coach and support leaders and teams to strengthen their safety capability, embedding consistent approaches to hazard identification, risk assessment, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the design and delivery of engaging safety learning experiences, ensuring people feel equipped, confident, and supported to respond effectively to risks and emergency situations.
- Provide thoughtful oversight of incidents and investigations, guiding teams to uncover root causes, learn deeply, and implement meaningful actions that prevent recurrence.
- Lead with integrity to ensure strong governance and compliance, while drawing on data and insights to identify trends, inform decisions, and continuously enhance safety performance.
- Cultivate collaborative relationships across the organisation and with key stakeholders, aligning efforts and building momentum to embed safety as a shared value and collective responsibility.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- A values-led, people-centred leader proven in building, guiding, and inspiring high-performing safety teams.
- Well-rounded expertise across safety, health, and environment, with the ability to connect disciplines and translate insight into meaningful, real-world impact.
- A thoughtful and strategic thinker who can see the bigger picture, while confidently shaping and delivering practical outcomes.
- Highly developed communication and influencing skills, with ability to build trust, foster collaboration, and nurture strong relationships.
- Strong capability in enterprise risk management, with experience identifying, assessing, and guiding others to manage risk in a proactive, balanced, and sustainable way.
- A collaborative and empowering approach to leadership, uplifting capability in others, encouraging diverse perspectives, and creating an environment where people feel safe, heard, and motivated to contribute.
