Safety Advisory Partner
Perth Office - CBD, WA, AU
Due to continued industry and business growth, we are seeking a dedicated and skilled Safety Advisory Partner to join our Safety, Health & Environment function, based at our Perth CBD offices on a permanent full-time basis.
This role plays a key part in fostering a positive shift in safety maturity and culture through proactive engagement and influential leadership, while maintaining a strong emphasis on contractor safety management, supporting construction-related activities, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards. As a front-facing safety leader, you will actively facilitate, support, and provide informed, expert guidance across the business to ensure all work is carried out in alignment with legislative requirements, company policies, and industry best practices. Through extensive coaching and mentoring, you will help build capability across the workforce, driving continuous improvement and embedding safety as a core value in everything we do.
Your Role in Action
- Engage confidently with work teams and contractors by leading safety initiatives, toolbox talks, pre-starts, and induction programs that foster a proactive safety culture.
- Communicate effectively across all levels of the business, from frontline personnel to middle management, building strong relationships and shared accountability for safety.
- Collaborate closely with contractors in client-based environments to ensure alignment with safety standards and best practices.
- Translate complex safety and technical information into clear, practical guidance that supports safe decision-making on-site.
- Work independently with a strong sense of initiative, delivering high-quality outcomes within tight deadlines.
- Demonstrate excellent time management and prioritisation skills, with a continuous focus on improvement and personal effectiveness.
- Conduct site inspections and audits with a sharp eye for hazard identification, risk mitigation, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- ICAM-certified, with proven experience leading incident investigations and delivering practical, preventative recommendations that drive safer outcomes.
- Over five years’ experience with strong knowledge of safety, health, and environmental regulations, ideally gained within high-risk or construction environments.
- Tertiary qualification in Health & Safety, Environment, or a related discipline — or equivalent demonstrated experience in a high-risk industry.
- Holds a valid WA Driver’s Licence (Class ‘C’ or ‘C-A’) and Construction White Card.
- Willing and flexible to travel to various Western Power locations and participate in an on-call availability roster as required.
By joining Western Power, you will contribute to powering a cleaner energy future. We are dedicated to fostering career development and promoting a healthy work-life balance, empowering you to drive innovation as we develop a network that will serve the Western Australian community for generations.
