We have a new permanent opportunity for a Senior Energy Market Engineer to take the lead in making sure our customers and stakeholders meet the highest standards under the Technical Rules and Generator Performance Standards. Your Role in Action
- Drive the evolution of Technical Rules and GPS to meet regulatory obligations, corporate goals, and broader energy policy objectives.
- Shape the future of WA’s energy standards by aligning Technical Rules with the Electricity System and Market (ESM) Rules, WA Electrical Requirements, WA Services & Installation Requirements, and global best practices.
- Build strong relationships and collaborate with key stakeholders like ERA, Energy Policy WA, and AEMO to influence positive regulatory change.
- Partner across the business to develop, submit, and advocate for exemptions and amendments that support compliance and innovation.
- Create and maintain practical guidelines to help internal teams and external partners navigate Technical Rules and GPS compliance.
- Be the go-to expert - offering clear, professional advice on the interpretation and application of complex compliance standards.
- Design and improve systems and processes that deliver consistent, high-quality compliance advice and support.
- Lead the charge in making compliance simple, efficient, and business-friendly across Technical and ESM Rules.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Solid experience in planning, designing, or operating transmission or distribution networks.
- Strong understanding of power system design and operation, including both primary and secondary systems.
- Sharp analytical skills with the ability to assess technical options, evaluate risks, and identify the best outcomes.
- Confident communicator who can simplify complex technical ideas for any audience.
- Proven ability to build trust, influence stakeholders, and collaborate across diverse teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering and a passion for driving performance and innovation in energy networks.
