We're on the lookout for a Senior Hazard and Critical Risk Management Specialist to join us in a new permanent opportunity. You'll be at the forefront of preventing serious harm and saving lives - guiding smarter, risk-informed decisions and strengthening safety performance where it matters most. Your Role in Action
- Be the trusted expert in identifying and managing high-impact hazards - help shape a safer future through critical risk leadership.
- Lead structured risk assessments that uncover fatal exposures, guide methodology selection, and ensure alignment with WHS legislation and internal standards.
- Design and define risk-aligned critical controls that are practical, effective, and adaptable across varied and complex operational settings.
- Coach and support leaders in executing critical control verification - tailor activities by role and analyse outcomes to drive continuous safety improvement.
- Track and interpret hazard, incident, and risk data to detect trends early and guide proactive, preventative interventions.
- Champion consistency and discipline in safety-critical tasks, embedding strong operating standards and visible safety leadership across teams.
- Be a catalyst for cultural change -influence how people think about and act on risk to prevent serious harm and save lives.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Proven ability to drive safety outcomes and influence across complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
- Deep expertise in identifying high-consequence hazards and developing and verifying critical controls that work in practice.
- Skilled in leading risk assessments and turning data into clear, actionable insights that improve safety performance.
- Strong track record of turning strategy into action - translating technical detail into practical, real-world controls.
- Experienced in fast-paced, collaborative environments - using feedback and iteration to drive continuous improvement.
- Confident communicator who can engage and influence at all levels, both in writing and in person.
