Senior Land Access Specialist – Permanent Full Time – Perth CBD
As a Senior Land Access Specialist, you’ll be responsible for driving the sustainable and efficient delivery of major infrastructure projects through effective land access and approvals assessment, consultation and complex negotiations with community stakeholders, regulators, and private landowners. Your work will directly support the successful positioning and construction of critical assets across the network.
You’ll bring deep subject matter expertise to provide strategic advice, program oversight, and continuous improvement of land access systems, processes, standards, and stakeholder engagement practices.
Your Role in Action
- Shape smarter solutions – Contribute to systems improvements related to land access and approvals (GIS, land access and customer management systems, approvals management systems) identifying opportunities, constraints, and landowner approval pathways.
- Drive strategic change – Influence and enhance systems related to easements land access, and statutory approval frameworks to future-proof infrastructure access.
- Collaborate across teams – Coordinate with internal specialists to deliver clear, actionable land access and approvals advice that drives project success.
- Lead with expertise – Provide strategic advice to Joint Planning Teams, outlining opportunities, constraints, and likely landowner approval requirements related to land access.
- Build trusted partnerships – Manage and nurture relationships with landowners impacted by major infrastructure projects, including transmission lines, substations, and communications towers.
- Empower others – Mentor and support team members, sharing technical knowledge and fostering excellence in land access and approvals.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Bachelor’s Degree in , Geography, Geo-spatial Information Systems Project Management, Urban and Regional Planning or related discipline and/or broad and comprehensive expertise or training in these areas.
- Extensive knowledge and expertise in regulations and negotiating approval conditions with government and non-government stakeholders
- Demonstrated application of project planning and risk management tools
- Ability to identify, manage and escalate risks and issues, specific to the position.
- Demonstrated exceptional negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels
- Practical exposure to linear infrastructure and associated GIS, land and customer management systems
- Knowledge of multi criteria options analysis
- Good understanding of the legislation that governs access to land and the process of securing easements, preferably within a utility or government agency
- Understanding of environmental, heritage and planning obligations
